GOAL DONE
We have finished a huge goal in our lives.. Which was to get Whitney Potty trained. She is actually both potty trained day and night!! Yes we had some rough days but we actually got it done! I am glad that I did try so early. Even though I do believe that when the child is ready they can do it all by themselves. But practice, practice practice does not hurt either.

Dutch apple pie
DUTCH APPLE PIE
this is wonderful recipe for Dutch
Apple Pie, made entirely from food storage ingredients. With a year old can of dehydrated apples already sitting on my kitchen counter
Storage Ingredients
Filling:
4 cups dehydrated apples, firmly packed
4 cups water
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Bring water to a boil in a 3 quart pan. Add apples, stir and let stand for 5 minutes. Add sugar, flour and cinnamon to apples. Cook, stirring constantly until thick and bubbly. Pour into an oiled or sprayed 7 x 11 inch pan. (We buttered our pan, because we could.) The main difference I noticed about this recipe was that in preparing the apples this way created a very VERY luscious, almost caramel-like, filling.
Topping:
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup butter
Cut butter into flour and sugar until crumbly.
Sprinkle crumb topping over the apple filling.
Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.
Serve hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or half and half.
WE LOVED THIS DUTCH APPLE PIE!!! If you have dehydrated apples in your storage you should definitely try this recipe. If you don’t have dehydrated apples in your storage,
get some.

family tradition
We have decided that our new familytradition is to eat food around different holidays.
So for St. Patricks day- we ate green eggs for breakfast. Zack said he would not eat them but Whitney loved them. And for dinner we had red potatoes and cornbeef. Nope I do not like boiled cabbage so we did not have that. But we still had a great dinner.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13x9-inch baking pan. In mixer bowl, beat flour, sugar, melted butter, cocoa, 2 eggs, milk, 2 teaspoons vanilla and baking powder until well blended. Spread into pan. In small mixer bowl, beat cream cheese, 2 tablespoons butter and cornstarch until fluffy. Gradually add sweetened condensed milk, then remaining 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla, beating until smooth. Pour over brownie batter. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until top is lightly browned. Cool; refrigerate. Cut into bars. Store covered in refrigerator. Makes 24 to 36 bars. Read Ensign for January
I did it I read the whole Ensign for January.
For the past couple of weeks Whitney has been singing a song from Barney called
What Should We Do When We Don't Know What To Do! and I just thought it was cute then I read the Ensign and One of the articles is called "What Should We Do When We Don't Know What To Do?" are you kidding me? So I read it and now when she sings this song I tell her to Keep the Commandments.
I also thought that this Ensign had many articles on being Self Reliant .Maybe I need to take a hint and become more self reliant.
I am excited that I actually read the Entire Magazine. Now I am looking forward to February when it comes out again!

Fast every month
ok It has been a long time since I have fasted. So Like the church I decided I need to go back to basics and to fast and make it consistent. It is much tougher when you have ti be a mother and make sure the kids eat. But I did it! I was so excited and I am sure that it will make a difference in my life. But no worries I was still so thirsty and then when it was time to eat I ate so quickly that my belly hurt! I had forgotten about all those little things since I have not fasted in a long time!
